MONTPELIER, VERMONT – On July 1st, 2026, the Vermont Federation of Nursing and Health Professionals (VFNHP), Vermont’s largest healthcare union, officially rejoined the Vermont State Labor Council, AFL-CIO.

“VFNHP is excited to stand in solidarity once again with the Vermont AFL-CIO. Collective action and building strong worker relationships throughout the labor movement in our state is essential as we continue to fight for workers' rights as a local healthcare union of over 3,000 nurses and technical professionals. We look forward to expanding our collective power to include workers from across our state with the AFL-CIO to build a stronger and better Vermont.” said VFNHP President Nicole DiVita.

“We are happy to welcome the VFNHP back into our federation. With this reunion of nurses and technical professionals, the Vermont AFL-CIO is now over 20,000 members strong.” said Vermont AFL-CIO President Larry Moquin. “We are proud to stand in solidarity with the VFNHP as they bargain for fair contracts for technical professionals and support staff at the University of Vermont Medical Center and look forward to working with them in the years to come.”
