Jenny Brown, Organizer at National Women’s Liberation and former Editor at Labor Notes, will share with us "The Secret Agenda Behind the Anti-Abortion Crackdown," as part of the Will Miller Social Justice Lecture Series.

Jenny Brown has written numerous books and articles, including Birth Strike: The Hidden Fight over Women's Work, and, most recently, Without Apology: The Abortion Struggle Now.

Throughout her work, Jenny Brown has chronicled the struggle between the ruling class and the working class over reproductive labor in the United States. On the one hand, US employers want a continuous supply of healthy and trained workers without paying for it; and, on the other, working-class women and those able to bear children want real support for raising the next generation of workers, such as paid family leave and a national healthcare system, as well as the right to withhold their reproductive labor. Increasingly, the capitalist ruling class has undermined our right to withhold our labor, including our reproductive labor, which is why this lecture is more timely than ever.

We strongly encourage those who are able to watch the lecture in person with us, as there will be a discussion immediately following Brown's lecture. We will meet in Waterman 427 to watch the lecture and discuss the implications in our community afterwards.
