Last night, the Trump administration took its most blatantly anti-worker, anti-union action yet: an executive order stripping the right to organize from hundreds of thousands of federal workers at more than 30 agencies.

Today, the Vermont Senate passed Proposal 3, 29-0!  President Larry Moquin invited various unions to join in celebrating this important victory.  Now, the amendment moves to the House, where a public hearing will be held.

February is Black History Month. And while we celebrate Black labor leaders and union members, both past and present, who have advanced real change, we won’t ignore the moment we find ourselves in right now. 

The Senate Economic Development, Housing, and General Committee held the first hearing for Proposal 3 today in Montpelier.  VT AFL-CIO President Larry Moquin and Vice-President Aimee Bertrand both offered testimony to the committee, as did members of the Teamsters, UNAP, and Laborers.&

Labor leaders, rank and file members, and legislators met last night in Montpelier for Labor Speed Dating!  With over 20 organizations represented, the event gave union members a chance to connect with their elected officials face to face.

Registered apprenticeships are the gold standard of job training programs. They provide workers with life-changing skills and a pathway to good jobs that support families and lift communities.
